Residencies are places and times that Maryse Goudreau goes
through to get to others. Guided by otherness, they lead her to review how
she operates in her creation according to the ideas of exchange, reciprocity
and hospitality.
WHALES LISTENERS / 2019
The Arctic Circle Residency Progam, Svalbard
Production: Whale listening circles at the whalers' sites were organized and filmed with participants from the residence. The participants travel on a large sailing ship in the Arctic. The work focused on the intertwining of the social histories of whales and whalers.
