Les Souffleurs is a silent video featuring the spectral presence of several belugas. Between different sites, these animals serve as a living backdrop for a banquet hall, captured in flash photos where beluga dioramas are reflected outside the frame. Les Souffleurs was presented as a life-size scene taken from the design of the exhibition Pour ceux qui ne les voient pas, at Montréal’s Black Box Gallery in 2016.

LA BALEINE EST UNE MASSE DE SAVOIR
Monobande / 12 minutes / 2016

A sperm whale bone becomes the centre of a performance where viewers are invited to gently handle it. Touching the bone implies its inevitable erosion, making tangible the fragility of this spinal column taken from a fetus found in the belly of its mother. The performance was organized by the Musée de la Mer des Îles-de-la-Madeleine for the event Le Chant des pistes/Songlines, curated by Caroline Loncol Daigneault at AdMare artist-run centre.
