L’ÂGE DE L’EAU (THE AGE OF WATER)
2025
Following an invitation from the Transforming Climate Action program, Maryse Goudreau was able to capture images and write observations aboard the icebreaker, where Amundsen Science conducts research in the Arctic. This research-creation experience in the Baffin Sea led her to publish a micro-edition of L’âge de l’eau (The Age of Water). In it, she addresses the numbness felt in the face of scientific data on climate and water, and employs artistic, political, and anthropomorphic strategies to foster communion. In an era in which we are experiencing the unprecedented in terms of the environment, this work focuses on the power of sharing, which should bring us all together in the same boat with empathy.
